Crochet Pattern Young Girls Cape

Published by dunappaloosa at 8:03 am under Crochet and knitting Edit This

I had a small amount of nice homespun wool yarn that I wanted to use up.  I didn’t have enough yarn for a large pattern so I made a small cape for my friend’s little girl.

I used a Bulky homespun yarn and a Q crochet hook for the body and a P hook for the edging

Chain 32 (or as long as you need to make the right size for the person you are making it for.)

Row 1 Single crochets all the way across

Row 2. Chain 2 Turn and double crochet to end adding one extra stitch on each end.

Repeat row 2 until cape is as big as you want it to be.

On last row do not turn or finish off.

Switch to P hook and chain one, for the corner and single chain up the side of the cape until you get to the second or third stitch from the top. Chain 15-20 for the tie and then turn and half double crochet back to the body of the cape. Continue single crochet around the cape and make another tie the same as above on the other side.  Complete the single chain until you reach the bottom of the cape and finish off.
