Ever changing weather
New Mexico is one of those states where the weather is constantly changing. The Weather also changes significantly from one side of the state to another. We may have a fire weather watch on one side of the state and snow on the other side.
This weekend I was planning on working outside in the garden, but Saturday was a total bust. It never go over 45 degrees and half the day it was blowing snow. None of the snow stuck, it was just cold and blustery and yucky all day. Sunday was a better day, but it was still quite wind. It would have been a good day to plant my beets, but I don’t like planting in the wind. I’m hoping next weekend will be better for me to get some of my garden planted. On the bright side, I’ve got seedlings coming up all over the house. Several varieties of squash top the list along with some watermelon and cantaloupe.

Do you have hard soil? When I lived in AZ the soil was hard as rock, not as red and full of clay as here in GA, but hard.
I got a vintage sewing machine, complete with masking tape. lol. Come by my blog and check it out if you get a minute.
Christine,
Yes the soil here is rock hard. We do have some clay in my area, but the clay isn’t red it’s an almost lavender purpleish color. Thanks for the tip on the sewing machine.
Terri,
Thanks, Like I said, wait a bit and the weather will change. It’s already getting nicer here again.
